Dom Paulo's Place

Hi there and welcome
My name is Paul and although I really doubt I will have many visitors at my homepage, I decided to create one anyway,
Just in case any old friends were looking to find out about me..
First... My history, I am a small town lad who grew up in the Village of Omemee, Ontario, Canada. After completing High-school at nearby St. Peter's Secondary School, I was off to Ottawa, the Capital of Canada, where I studied Sociology...
What ya going to do with a degree in sociology? I'm still wondering the same thing....

The Adventure Begins
A year after graduating, I was accepted to go overseas for a 2 and a half year period, to work in the Amazon region of Brazil....
In January of 1995 I was off...
I spent my first 3 months in Brazil's Capital, Brasilia, where I met many wonderful people and learned to speak portuguese.
After that it was off to the Amazon, Where I lived for 2 years with the Catholic Bishop of the area. Jorge Marskell, the Bishop of Itacoatiara Amazonas was one of the kindest most giving people I had ever met, and I was very lucky to have had the chance to meet him.
I spent my time in Amazonas working with Youth groups, and I got the chance to travel by boat up and down the amazon.

...Then The big life change.
Then when I wasn't expecting it, it happened.. I met a wonderful Amazon woman and fell in love
After I returned home in March of 1997, I couldn't forget Rosa, so once I had re-established myself back here in Canada, and found work. I went back down and on December 06th 1997 we were married!!!
Rosa has a 5 year old boy named Bruno, who now is my son, and my little buddy.
I spent the next 3 months fighting immigration to bring Rosa into the country. My sisters teased me that I was married and separated all in 2 months. Lucky for me however it did not take too long,
and Rosa and Bruno arrived here in toronto, Canada on March 6th 1998. Since then we've been doing well.

Sometimes I think back if I have any regrets in my life I have a wonderful family and Since comming back to Canada have been very happy with my new life, however, I have let a lot of old friends slip out of my life. I guess if there are any regrets,
the only ones are that I wish I hadn't lost touch with some of those people. And it is especially for that reason that I have begun this website. I would like for anyone who knew or knows me, who stumbles across this website to e-mail me. I'll take ya out for a
beer or a doughnut or something! OK.

Life is too short.
Go out and make it happen.
